In this role, you will be the sole Clinical Coder within the Optimisation team, providing expert guidance on clinical classification and data integrity. You will engage with clinical coding leadership to drive best practices, mentor staff, and deliver targeted education to coding and clinical staff. Your expertise will support Activity Based Funding outcomes while fostering innovation and continuous improvement in coding processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Be an expert in clinical coding and classification to guide the development and optimisation of coding products
* Analyse, validate, and reconcile coded data using state, local, and national databases and analytics tools
* Identify training needs, develop and deliver education programs for coding and clinical staff
* Provide expert advice on the interpretation of coded data, including its implications for activity-based funding
Qualifications and Experience
* Whilst not mandatory, a diploma in Clinical Coding would be well regarded
* Experience auditing/educating in a large tertiary health service is highly desirable
* Experience utilising integrated Electronic Medical Record (ieMR), Patient Administrative System (HBCIS), 3M Codefinder, other relevant software and programs would be well regarded
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Oral health waiting times for general dental assessment have been reduced by almost 50 per cent in less than 12 months.
Planning for the Southport Health Precinct is underway, with a range of outpatient and community based services expected to move into refurbished buildings in 2014.
