We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Issues Management Communications Manager to join a high-performing telecommunications company on a 6-month contract, leading complex media relations and crisis communication efforts in a dynamic, fast-paced environment based in Macquarie Park.Office Location: Macquarie ParkWorking arrangement: 3 days office 2 days WFHStart Date: ASAPContract Duration: Initial 6 MonthsDaily pay rate: $800-$950 + superPre-employment checks requiredKey Responsibilities:Lead and manage complex issues and crisis communication responses across media and stakeholder channels.Respond to media inquiries as part of a rotating roster, including after-hours and occasional weekend coverage (approx. one weekend every 5–6 weeks).Collaborate closely with internal communications, marketing, and other communication units to ensure alignment and consistency.Craft high-quality written materials, including media statements, reactive responses, and briefing notes.Advise and support senior executives and the exco team on reputational risk and external communications.Maintain strong relationships with key media, particularly in the Australian financial and business sectors.Develop strong internal relationships to find information and good news storiesProvide timely responses to media queries and requestsContribute to integrated communications strategies, ensuring messaging is effective and risk-informed.Create and execute budget-conscious campaigns which achieve Corporate Affairs and Business objectivesPromote business milestones, strategic announcements, points of differentiation and product/feature launches using a range of techniques, including showcases, news placements, and event participationProvide company executives and spokespeople with media guidance that results in best outcomesKey Experience:10+ years of experience in issues and crisis media relations, ideally across both corporate and agency environmentsProven experience managing complex, high-stakes media issues and working under pressureStrong background in external communications, particularly in media liaison and reputation managementExperience engaging with executive-level stakeholders and navigating sensitive topics with discretionSolid understanding of the Australian media landscape, especially in financial and business sectorsPrevious work in corporate affairs, while not essential, is considered a bonusKey Skills:Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including media statements and reactive messagingStrong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills – capable of influencing at senior levelsCrisis communication expertise, with a calm and strategic approach under pressureCollaboration and teamwork, working closely across internal comms, marketing, and legalComfortable working to tight deadlines, including on a rotating roster involving after-hours and occasional weekendsAble to work autonomously and manage shifting prioritiesHigh degree of professional judgment, confidentiality, and resilienceIf this sounds like you - APPLY NOWAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates strongly encouraged to apply.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Applications received after the due date may be considered for similar roles."Indigeco Acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and Recognise our Brothers & Sisters Connection to Land, Waters and Community.
