Overview
The Earthworker Energy Manufacturing Cooperative (EEMC) manufactures, sells and installs premium quality solar and heat pump hot water products for households, trade and commercial customers. As an accredited Social Enterprise, we help households reduce their energy use while growing local manufacturing and employment in the Latrobe Valley. We are seeking a Sales and Marketing Coordinator to undertake and manage hot water product sales, customer service and marketing activities. This role is part of the Business Management team responsible for business and financial management of the enterprise. EEMC is a Social Enterprise run collectively by its workers, offering a dynamic and democratic workplace where you have a real say in how the enterprise operates. This is an exciting, varied and hands-on role within a small and passionate team.
Remuneration We can offer a generous hourly rate, plus a sales-performance-based bonus by negotiation.
Project Background
The Earthworker Energy Manufacturing Cooperative is one part of the Earthworker ecosystem of cooperatives. Earthworker brings together people from diverse backgrounds to solve social and environmental problems faced by communities and the planet, providing a common ground where trade unionists, environmentalists, small business people and others work together in a common cause. We are seeking someone who supports cooperative values and the principle of workplace democracy and is willing to help build our cooperative.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Customer Service : Respond to and manage incoming sales inquiries received via email and phone calls; provide product information and individual quotes to sales leads, support customers from quote to sale and arrange installation of their product; provide after-sales customer service and product support; assist in processing relevant government rebates for hot water installations.
- Sales & Marketing Strategy : Develop weekly, monthly and annual sales strategies; coordinate and implement marketing and social media strategies; create marketing material and content; actively generate leads and build relationships with potential single and bulk customers.
- Business Management : Participate in weekly/monthly financial and business administration & management activities, including budgeting, forecasting, managing cashflow, interpreting and preparing financial reports; work as part of the EEMC team and participate in decision-making processes to build the cooperative business.
Relevant Skills and Experience
- Excellent professional communication, interpersonal, problem solving, presentation, personal integrity and organizational skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills and customer relationship management experience.
- Excellent written communication and ability to write and create marketing material.
- Proficiency with Email, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X), and Xero; in-house training can be provided.
- Business Management & Administration experience, including budgeting and cashflow management.
- Knowledge and experience in the hot water industry (especially heat pump, solar & electric hot water products) is desirable but not mandatory; product training will be provided.
- Cooperation and teamwork experience and interest in cooperatives and/or Social Enterprise.
- Ability and willingness to learn, adapt, and engage in a variety of tasks and be trained across various areas.
- Ability to follow and develop policies, procedures and manage compliance with installation and government rebate requirements.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as required.
- Strong adherence to workplace safety policies, procedures and behavior.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to events, promotional stalls and workshops.
