Assets Information Officer

Hourly rate from: Stream A Level 3.1 ($ per hour) + superannuation.

Location: Logan Central, QLD, 4114

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 x part time Assets Information Officers to join the Transport Planning and Assets Branch within the Council.

* Part time, temporary until 29 July 2026 with a possibility of an extension
* Part time, permanent

These two part‑time roles offer flexible, variable hours and are ideal for anyone seeking work that comfortably fits around their lifestyle and commitments.

Each position will be required to work a 5-day fortnight which is flexible.

In this role, you will maintain and update GIS and asset data, manage engineering drawings, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of spatial and asset records. You will conduct As Constructed and DBYD searches, produce high‑quality maps, and provide clear, customer‑focused technical advice. Success in this position requires strong GIS experience, the ability to interpret engineering and development information, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, organised, and proactive approach to supporting the team and broader stakeholders.

Position responsibilities include:

* Manage and maintain asset data across its lifecycle-from creation to condition surveys and renewal analysis.
* Promote a positive, learning‑focused team culture and model strong leadership.
* Manage and maintain Council's Drawing Register, GIS data, and asset records.
* Produce maps and support ongoing GIS and asset data improvements.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align asset data with strategic goals.
* Contribute to the development of asset and service management plans.
* Generate reports on asset condition, performance, and renewal strategies.
* Develop and document efficient, safe asset data capture processes.

Key indicators for success:

* Strong experience with GIS and spatial data.
* Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings and asset information.
* Confident communicator with sound decision‑making ability.
* Self‑motivated, collaborative, and supportive team member.
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
* Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
* Current 'C' class driver licence.
* Ability to pass all pre-employment and background checks as required.
