This is a pivotal role that supports the school in providing Risk and Compliance services to parents, staff, students, and the public. The Business Services Unit (BSU) of the school is a dynamic environment, staffed by a supportive team with clear processes guiding day-to-day functions. The BSU team serves the school by providing risk assessments for incursions and excursions off and on-site, WHS policy and strategy, and ensuring compliance with government requirements.
The ideal candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications in risk management, WHS, compliance, or a related field. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational or not-for-profit setting, is required. Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, privacy, workers compensation, and risk management frameworks is essential. Experience in policy development, compliance reporting, and incident investigation is also highly desirable.
A key aspect of this role is ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and compliance of the school community. This includes overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of risk management frameworks, WHS systems, and compliance obligations. The successful candidate will also manage the planning and approval processes for school excursions and off-site activities, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and the school's values.
