Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within Social Work in order to provide high quality therapeutic care to clients of the Narrangy-Booris Service, in particular Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander women and families, in the perinatal, postnatal and early childhood period. This is consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.
The Social Worker will be an important member of the multidisciplinary Aboriginal Child & Family Health Team (AC&FHT) based at Menai Community Health Centre. The Social Worker will provide a comprehensive culturally sensitive Social Work service to clients and their families, including comprehensive psychosocial assessment, counselling, case management, group work and advocacy to assist Aboriginal children, women and their families with accessing a broader range of health service, health education and parenting support services.
The Social Worker will demonstrate ability to liaise and network with a variety of people and services, including health professionals, clients, the local Aboriginal community, and other community services, and provide consultation as required.
