Job Description
The Trustee for SS TAGORE FAMILY TRUST Seeking a skilled Chef for a full-time role. Responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, menu planning, food safety compliance, kitchen coordination, and stock management. Must work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, maintain hygiene standards, and support team operations.

Task & responsibilities Planning menus and determining food portions, ingredients, and presentation style Preparing, seasoning, cooking, and presenting dishes in a commercial kitchen Monitoring food quality at all stages of preparation and service Coordinating and supervising kitchen staff during food preparation and service Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations Estimating food requirements and managing stock levels
Ordering and receiving food supplies and kitchen ingredients Maintaining cleanliness and proper functioning of kitchen equipment Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff and apprentices Assisting in developing new recipes and improving menu offerings Controlling portion sizes and minimising food wastage Working efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment These duties reflect the standard ANZSCO expectations for a Chef working in a commercial hospitality setting like a café or restaurant.
Qualification & experience Relevant Commercial Cookery qualification (Certificate III/IV or equivalent) with minimum 2–3 years experience in a commercial kitchen. Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards required.
