The research group led by Dr. Elnaz Seylabi at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a fully funded Ph.D. position beginning in Fall 2025. This opportunity is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and focuses on the development of physics-informed machine learning frameworks for surrogate modeling of geostructural systems.
Requirements
– Master’s degree in Computational Mechanics, Earthquake/Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
– Experience with finite element modeling and scientific machine learning
– Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated curiosity for innovative research at the intersection of mechanics and artificial intelligence
