Fishing Program Coordinator - Southern Suburbs

A Southern suburbs Fishing Program Coordinator role which is all about helping people share your love of fishing. This role helps people with disabilities experience the fun of fishing whilst providing a coordination and leadership role for other volunteers.
Responsibilities
* Practical assistance to participants - setting up fishing gear, baiting and casting a line, and catch care
* Awareness of current rules and regulations regarding recreational fishing
* Developing relationships with participants to enhance their self-esteem, life skills, awareness of the environment and experience a quality outdoor activity
* Plan and organise volunteer rosters
* Preparation beforehand (organising trailers, bait, equipment etc) and coordination on the day of each fishing activity
* Attend meetings, training and functions and provide input as required (a few times per year)

Our volunteers achieve great satisfaction through the time they spend with participants and carers in our programs. You will help in all areas of fishing participation such as setting up fishing gear, baiting and casting a line, catch care and boating duties as required if you volunteer on our vessel.
Jetty fishing once a week in metro area during the fishing season. Boat fishing twice per week on Swan and Canning Rivers during the fishing season.
Sub branches in Albany, Bunbury Busselton, Mandurah and Geraldton providing regular fishing clinics

Time Required ~5 hrs per week (including attendance at a weekly activity and preparation time beforehand). The position has a rotation so Wednesday, next week Thursday, following week Friday.
