This role has been created to support that next stage, bringing structure and coordination across administration and finance as the business evolves.
The Role
This is a key position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration and finance function of the business. You will work closely with the owner and operational leaders, ensuring the office runs efficiently while providing clear financial oversight to support decision-making.
Key responsibilities include
* Oversee day-to-day office operations and manage a small administration team
* Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and collections
* Manage payroll and routine compliance requirements including BAS and GST
* Produce regular financial summaries to support visibility across the business
* Support cash flow management through accurate reporting and coordination
* Identify and implement improvements to administrative and financial processes
* Provide practical support to the broader business on operational and organisational matters
* Act as a central point of coordination between administration, operations, and leadership
What We're Looking For
* Relevant accounting or bookkeeping qualifications (degree or equivalent experience)
* Experience in an SME or operational environment where roles are hands-on
* Solid understanding of accounts processes, payroll, and basic compliance requirements
* Ability to take ownership of financial administration with minimal supervision
* Previous experience supervising or supporting a small team
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with non-finance stakeholders
* A practical, organised approach with a focus on efficiency and accuracy
* Confidence working across both finance and general administration functions
* Experience with Xero (preferred)
Remuneration
The role of Senior Administration / Finance Manager in Hobart is offered with a salary between $90,000 - $120,000 + benefits.
