Peabody is seeking a
Technical Services Superintendent
to join our Coppabella Mine team in Queensland. This is a key leadership role where you'll oversee the technical services function, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you'll provide strategic direction, mentor a high-performing team, and deliver technical excellence across mine planning, geology, and survey disciplines.
About The Role
As Technical Services Superintendent, you will:
* Lead and develop the Technical Services team to achieve operational and strategic goals
* Oversee mine planning, design, and scheduling to optimise production and resource recovery
* Provide technical expertise and support to operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, and cost efficiency
* Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, projects, and corporate functions
* Ensure accurate and timely reporting of technical data and performance metrics
About You
We're looking for someone who brings:
* Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related discipline
* Proven leadership experience in open-cut coal mining operations
* Strong technical knowledge of mine planning, design, and scheduling software
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment
