Sous Chef – Full Time
Location: Sunshine Coast, QLD
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 + Super (Full Time)
Experience Required: Minimum 2–5 years in a Senior Chef or Sous Chef role
Position Description
As Sous Chef, you will support the Executive Chef in leading daily kitchen operations and ensuring exceptional food standards across a high-volume breakfast and lunch service.
Key Responsibilities
Running efficient service alongside the Head Chef/Executive Chef
Overseeing daily food prep and ensuring menu consistency
Managing ordering, stock rotation, and food cost controlsMaintaining exceptional cleanliness and food safety compliance
Assisting with seasonal menu development and innovation
Training, mentoring, and developing junior kitchen staff
Working closely with the Head Chef and leadership team to improve kitchen systems and workflow
About You
2–5+ years' experience in a Sous Chef or Senior Chef role
Passion for vibrant, produce-driven lunch and dinner dishes
Calm under pressure, strong communicator, solutions-focused
Confident leading sections and stepping up when required
Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or willing to obtain)
Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to long-term growth
Available for some early starts (6:00am) and weekend shifts

Our menu features a tight, seasonal selection of antipasti, handmade pastas, wood-fired or pan-finished mains, and vibrant sides — all crafted in-house with a focus on flavour, technique, and consistency.
The Ridge offers an elevated casual dining experience breakfast, lunch and dinner: housemade ferments and pickles; hand-rolled pastas and fresh seafood; slow braises and premium cuts; considered desserts and classic Italian influences.
We are now looking for an experienced and driven Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen alongside our Executive Chef.
This is a full-time role with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
