The SWAT transdisciplinary team comprises Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Dietitians, Educators, Psychologist and Allied Health Assistants. The multiple disciplines working in the transdisciplinary model allow us to make a significant targeted impact when holistically supporting our clients.
POSITION
As an Occupational Therapist within our transdisciplinary team, you will provide capacity-building support to clients in their homes and everyday environments including schools, workplaces, daycares, in our community and at our SWAT premises including our living skills house. The clinical caseload is varied creating a fantastic opportunity to further develop expertise in working with a broad range of clinical diagnoses and support clients to improve their ability to perform everyday tasks. We offer assistance with the prescription of assistive technology, home modifications, environmental reviews, falls prevention, early intervention, emotional regulation, and social skills just to name a few. Another focus of this position would be providing training and consultation to the transdisciplinary team members in service development and quality improvement. Experienced therapists provide leadership to newer therapists in areas relevant to their strengths and expertise.

Current opportunities to shape a role in Early Intervention, Assistive Technology, Home Mods, Mental Health, Behaviour and Regulation or a combination role to suit your interest and skillset.
SKILLS NEEDED FOR THE ROLE
* Ability to assess, plan and implement strategies to increase participation in everyday tasks.
* Capacity to develop, modify and evaluate therapy approaches in accordance with evidence-based practice.
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to promote teamwork.
* Demonstrated participation in professional and personal development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
* Degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Current Western Australian driver's license.
Desirable
* 3-5 years of clinical experience.
* Previous experience working in a community setting
* Previous experience working within the NDIS
* Strong theoretical knowledge base and experience in the areas of disability.
* Demonstrated ability to provide high-level teaching, training and support to team and students.
* Demonstrated understanding and commitment to principles of continuous quality improvement.
