Plant Manager / Mechanical All-Rounder (HC Licensed)

Central Recycling is a long-established waste and resource recovery facility operating in accordance with EPA Victoria requirements. We are seeking a hands-on Plant Manager/Mechanical All-Rounder to oversee plant operations, maintain equipment, and step in to drive HC vehicles as required.
This is a hands-on role. It is a practical, site-based leadership position suited to someone mechanically minded who enjoys responsibility, problem-solving, and keeping machinery running efficiently.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the site's plant and equipment while supporting daily operational requirements. The position combines:
* Plant and machinery oversight/operation
* Mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance
* Truck driving (HC) as required
* Operational supervision and coordination
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operation of the site plant and machinery
* Maintain trucks, trailers, and earthmoving equipment
* Conduct preventative maintenance and identify mechanical faults
* Coordinate repairs and liaise with external service providers when required
* Operate loaders, forklift and other plant equipment
* Drive HC vehicles as operational needs require
* Ensure compliance with EPA and site operational requirements (training provided)
* Complete maintenance records and operational documentation
* Support continuous improvement of plant performance and safety systems
About You
* Current HC Licence (essential)
* Strong mechanical aptitude and practical experience with heavy equipment
* Experience operating earthmoving plants and heavy vehicles
* Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues
* Comfortable using tablets/computers for basic record keeping
* Self-motivated with leadership capability
* Reliable, safety-focused and solutions-driven
Experience in waste, recycling, transport or industrial operations will be highly regarded.
