Due to ongoing growth, my client is seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our Melbourne-based payroll team.

About the Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Analyst will support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll for a large employee population. This role has a strong focus on payroll processing, analysis, compliance, and system support within a high-volume retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interpretation and application of Retail Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and relevant legislation
* Payroll reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis
* Managing payroll adjustments, back pays, allowances, penalties, and terminations
* Responding to payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
* Supporting payroll audits and compliance activities
* Assisting with payroll system enhancements, testing, and process improvements
* Ensuring compliance with Fair Work, tax, superannuation, and statutory obligations
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a payroll role within a large, complex organisation (retail or multi-site environment highly regarded)
* Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements
* Experience working with large payroll systems e.g. SAP or Chris21
* High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Confident communicator able to work with stakeholders at all levels
* Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
