About the Role:
We're looking for a confident and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join a couple of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) teams in Mount Barker. You'll be working with male residents, each with unique support needs. A few clients require CPI-trained staff to assist with high-risk behaviours; the others benefits from a trauma-informed approach and a healthy dose of good humour and positive vibes.
Due to the specific behavioural support needs of two clients, this role requires a support worker trained in CPI (or willingness to obtain, at no cost) with experience managing physically challenging behaviours. Applicants must be comfortable with physical intervention and high-stress environments. The role may involve supporting a client with a history of aggression.
We value a calm, friendly personality — someone who's genuinely people-focused, resilient, and maybe even has a bit of light-hearted banter (if that's you, even better).
What You'll Do:
* Provide daily living support (personal care, meals, domestic tasks)
* Support implementation of behaviour support plans and regulated restrictive practices
* Promote independence, social connection, and community access
* Work as part of a close-knit, collaborative team
* Maintain accurate documentation
About You:
* Experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours
* CPI training or equivalent (essential for this role), or willingness to obtain
* Knowledge of trauma-informed care
* A great communicator with emotional intelligence
* Reliable, adaptable, and committed to client-centred care
* A good sense of humour and approachable nature
* Fluent in English, familiar with Australian slang
* Driver's licence + reliable car
* Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, WWCC, and First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Why Join Us?
* Competitive pay rates
* Flexible shifts & hours
* Passive sleepovers at above award rates (double)
* Supportive, team-based environment
* Opportunities to work across day options, mentoring, and respite to supplement your roster
* Professional development and on-the-job training
