We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in leading mechanical design and technical assessments for debottlenecking projects, focusing on mechanical components within a mineral processing plant.
The role will consist of managing and delivering mechanical engineering scopes, whilst providing technical support across project, construction, and operational phases.
The Role
* Lead mechanical design and technical assessments for debottlenecking and modification projects, including rotating machinery, piping and pressure equipment
* Coordinating with process, civil, structural, electrical and instrumentation teams to achieve integrated design outcomes
* Review and approve mechanical engineering deliverables such as datasheets, equipment specifications, layouts, tie-in details and calculations
* Support procurement activities through technical specification development, vendor evaluation, and documentation review
* Participate in HAZOPs, constructability reviews, and risk assessments
* Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, internal engineering practices, and operational requirements
About You
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Minimum of 8 years' experience in mechanical engineering
* Brownfields exposure
* Previous work within resource or chemical processing environments
* Strong knowledge of relevant Australian standards
* Proven experience with pressure equipment, piping systems, rotating equipment, and plant layout design
* Safety-focused mindset and strong communication skills
* Experience in reviewing 3D models, drawings, and engineering deliverables
