The Management Accountant in the Finance Business Partner section oversees financial governance and strategic management for Intelligence Group.
The Management Accountant assists the Assistant Director with budget development, forecasting, managing internal budgets and monthly reporting.
Role responsibilities
As a Management Accountant your will :
Deliver / prepare monthly financial reports with year-to-date, full year financials, the inclusion of key issues and variance commentary to guide decision making
Meet with budget holders on a monthly basis to provide a financial update on how the business area is tracking against budget
Work with each budget holder on a monthly basis, to complete a forecast until the end of financial year
Work in conjunction with internal stakeholders in the development of the initial Budget and updates in the Mid-Year Review process
Provide ad-hoc support including but not limited to financial corrections, accruals and journals, project related support such as exception reports, provision of various financial reports and general financial queries
Your skills and capabilities

Well-developed organisation skills, strong attention to detail and a sound analytical ability
Demonstrated experience in working on financials, spreadsheets and financial applications / software
Is a team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
The ability to foster relationships in order to deliver high quality advice and support to stakeholders that may include Senior Executive
Relevant experience in government financial processes, administrative tasks and / or contract management will be highly regarded.
Desirable skills and experience
Sound knowledge of the Australian Government financial framework, principles, policies and practices
Accounting diploma / degree qualification or similar discipline (highly desirable)
Professional memberships or working towards attaining CPA or CA (would be advantageous but not essential)
Eligibility
Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.

Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
