Wongaburra is a community based not for profit organisation that provides residential aged care and home care services to the local community of Beaudesert and surrounding regions.
Our Finance team provide services to over 380 clients and are poised for growth in 2025. As a not-for-profit provider Wongaburra is motivated to provide quality care and services and to invest in ensuring our staff are happy, well paid and trained to work effectively to meet the varying needs of our residents and clients.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Officer to join our Finance team. This is a full-time role working under the direction of the Office Manager and collaboratively with the Finance team at our Beaudesert-based office.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer the financial operations for the Finance department including accounts payable and receivable
* Prepare client invoices
* Monthly submission of clients billing information to Medicare
* Maintain accurate records and data and support audit processes
* Administer End of Month and End of Year processes and reconciliations
* Accurate and timely reporting and budget monitoring
* Investigate data errors/anomalies/inaccuracies and liaise with relevant stakeholders on a solution
* Payroll Review and Processing Approx. 200 employees
* Cash Management including Banking and Petty Cash Reconciliation
About you
Ideally, you will bring the following skills, experience, and personal qualities:
* Experience in a finance or accounting role
* Minimum Certificate IV qualification relevant to the role
* Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel skills
* Strong attention to detail and time management skills
* Skills in analysing and interpreting data and preparing informative financial reports
* Ability to understand and operate in accordance with relevant regulations and legislation within a highly regulated industry
* Ability to work effectively within a small team with a willingness to be flexible and help others to achieve team goals
* The ability to learn and positively adapt to change
