We’re excited to announce the opening of our brand-new Early Learning Centre at Strathnairn Primary School, and we are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our foundation team.
At Y Canberra Region, we believe food should be fun, nourishing, and prepared with care. As the Cook for our new ELC, you will play a key role in shaping our food service from day one creating nutritious, child-friendly meals and fostering a positive mealtime environment for our youngest learners.
What You’ll Do
* Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious and tasty meals for students.
* Cater to special dietary requirements and allergies with care.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen in line with food safety standards.
* Work collaboratively with the school and Y Canberra Region team to support student health and wellbeing.
What You’ll Need
* A valid Driver’s Licence.
* A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
* Experience preparing meals for children, including managing dietary needs and intolerances.
* A passion for nutrition and creating wholesome, enjoyable food.
* Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
* A Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Check, or willingness to obtain one.
* Experience in an Early Childhood or school environment is an advantage but not essential.
