Role Overview
As a Contract Exercise Physiologist, you will deliver tailored exercise interventions to clients with diabetes, pre-diabetes, and related metabolic health conditions. Working within a gym facility, you will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team—including diabetes educators, dietitians, and other allied health professionals—to provide safe, effective, and client-centered exercise programs.

Key Responsibilities
 * Conduct initial assessments of clients with diabetes, pre-diabetes, and related conditions, including functional fitness testing and health risk screening.
 * Design and deliver individualised and group exercise programs in alignment with clinical guidelines for diabetes management.
 * Provide ongoing monitoring of client progress, adjusting programs as needed to optimize health outcomes and safety.
 * Educate clients on the role of exercise in blood glucose management, cardiovascular health, weight management, and overall wellbeing.
 * Collaborate with other healthcare providers (e.g., diabetes educators, dietitians, GPs, endocrinologists) to ensure integrated care.
 * Maintain accurate client records using Nookal (computer software) and provide feedback to the clinical team regarding progress and challenges.
 * Support client motivation and engagement by fostering a positive, empowering, and inclusive gym environment.
 * Stay up to date with evidence-based practices in exercise physiology and diabetes management.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
 * Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with ESSA accreditation (or eligible).
 * Current ESSA accreditation is required at the time of application.
 * Current Professional Indemnity & Public Liability Insurance.
 * Current First Aid and CPR certification.
 * Demonstrated experience in prescribing exercise for clients with diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, or other chronic conditions.
 * A minimum of 2+ years of experience working with diabetes and chronic conditions is required.
 * Strong understanding of the interaction between exercise, medication, and blood glucose regulation.
 * Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to diverse client needs.
 * Capacity to work independently while maintaining collaborative ties with a multidisciplinary team.
 * Australian work rights are required for this position.
