Researcher in Alcohol and Drug Policy
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to advancing research that supports evidence-informed alcohol and drug policy. As a Research Fellow, you will coordinate an evaluation project, contribute to academic publications, and engage with stakeholders to ensure research findings make a tangible impact.
The National Drug Research Institute is one of the largest centres of alcohol and other drug research expertise in Australia. Our purpose is to conduct and disseminate research that supports evidence-informed policy and practice to prevent and minimise alcohol and other drug-related health, social, cultural and economic harms.
We are seeking a highly skilled researcher with a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline. You will have a strong track record of research outputs in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals/outlets relevant to the discipline. Demonstrated ability to conduct and manage both quantitative and qualitative research is essential. You will also possess high-level written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and liaise effectively with external project partners and funders.
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating research projects, assisting project leads with related activities, and managing research project ethics and recruitment processes. You will also develop a coherent and impactful program of research aligned with our mission. Additionally, you will share your findings through various forums, including publications in peer-reviewed journals, presentations at conferences, and other opportunities for dissemination.
We offer a competitive remuneration package, with a salary range of $114,307-$135,408 (ALB) pro-rata, plus 17% superannuation. You will also have access to Curtin's Healthy Lifestyle Program, with up to 2 hours per week of paid time off to engage in University-approved healthy lifestyle activities.
