Overview
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Layout Coordinator to lead and coordinate the design team based in Brisbane, while actively contributing to the layout and design of minerals processing plants. This role requires deep technical expertise in mechanical and piping design, with a strong focus on material handling systems, comminution, and hydrometallurgical circuits.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the Brisbane-based design team across multiple projects.
- Actively participate in the development of plant layouts, ensuring optimal design for material handling, comminution, and hydromet circuits.
- Ensure alignment of layout activities with project schedules, engineering standards, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, piping, structural, and process engineers.
- Review and validate 3D models and 2D drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
- Utilize Auto Desk and/or Bentley software tools to develop and manage layout designs.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior designers and drafters.
- Support design reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability assessments.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in plant layout design, with a strong background in mechanical and piping disciplines.
- Proven experience in minerals processing plant design, particularly in material handling, comminution, and hydrometallurgical systems.
- Proficiency in Auto Desk (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D) and/or Bentley (e.g., Open Plant, Micro Station) design platforms.
- Robust leadership and coordination skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or a related field.
