The Role

ALS is seeking enthusiastic Technicians to join our metallurgical services business based in Perth, WA. You will be a casual employee working up to 75 hours a fortnight (shiftwork is required for this role – day/afternoon and occasional night shifts) with a view to permanent full‐time employment after a period of service and successful performance.

Location: Balcatta laboratory, Perth, WA.

Reporting to the Area Supervisor, your responsibilities as a team member will be to perform metallurgical laboratory testwork procedures safely and successfully to meet the expectations of our clients. All positions are not FIFO mine site roles and all training will be provided.

Day to Day
* Undertake laboratory activities such as cleaning, labelling, weighing, bulking, sample preparation, digestion, fusing, instrument operation, classical methods, and completing jobs/runs for subsequent procedures.
* Apply time management skills so that routine laboratory activities are conducted in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the workplace.
* Strictly comply with ALS procedures and policies.

* Good communication, organisational and time‐management skills.
* Great attention to detail and high motivation.
* Ability to undertake shift work – both day and afternoon as required.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual handling tasks.
* Good literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
