Pacific Optics is a leading provider of consumer lifestyle, optical and accessories products across Australia and New Zealand. We partner with major retailers, petrol and convenience outlets, and eCommerce platforms, delivering trend‐led, commercially strong products across sunglasses, optical frames, headwear and accessories.
We're seeking an experienced National Product Manager – Headwear & Optical to join the Commercial team on a 12-month fixed term contract, covering a period of parental leave.
This role is based at the Pacific Optics Burleigh Heads, head office.
The Opportunity
As National Product Manager, you'll own the end‐to‐end performance of the Headwear & Optical category. This is a hands‐on role combining product development, pricing strategy, supplier negotiation and close collaboration with Sales and Design.
Over the next 12 months, you'll work directly with offshore suppliers, refining designs, materials, blends and colourways – often reviewing large sample sets and iterating quickly to meet trend, cost and margin targets. You'll also play a key role in client engagement and range sell‐ins, ensuring products land commercially in market.

About You
This role is not a pure procurement position. You're commercially minded, product‐led and comfortable being customer‐facing.
* Experience in apparel, swimwear, headwear, optical or fashion accessories
* Background in product management, buying, category or account management
* Strong experience working with international‐based suppliers
* Confident negotiation skills, particularly around raw materials and cost structures
* A balance of creative instinct and commercial discipline
* Strong communication and presentation skills (you don't need to be the loudest in the room - just clear and credible)
Key Responsibilities
* Own and execute category strategy across headwear and optical frames
* Develop and manage pricing hierarchies to achieve margin and volume targets
* Lead product development from concept through to launch
* Review and refine frame designs, materials, blends and pantone selections
* Manage large sample submissions and range iterations
* Negotiate raw material and finished goods costs with suppliers
* Source and manage offshore suppliers, primarily within the China market
* Work closely with Sales and Account Managers, including client meetings and presentations
* Partner with Design to deliver commercially viable, on‐trend products
* Oversee quality control, compliance and product execution
* Contribute to go‐to‐market strategy, launches and category reviews
* Travel internationally and interstate for trade shows, suppliers and customer meetings as required
