Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Clinical Nurse Consultant - Emergency to join us in a Permanent, Full-time role.
Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early ****.
This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region.
With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it's set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits
What you'll be doing
As a successful applicant, you will cultivate collaborative relationships with consumers, leaders and managers, colleagues, and the broader multidisciplinary team.
Your work will align with the strategic direction, ensuring that our services are continuously improving and evolving to meet the changing healthcare landscape.
Provide expert clinical leadership and consultancy within the Emergency Department, supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of advanced emergency nursing practice in line with evidence-based standards and contemporary models of care
Lead and support the ongoing development, implementation, and review of clinical pathways, guidelines, and models of care relevant to adult and paediatric emergency presentations
Demonstrate visionary, innovative, and evidence-informed leadership in addressing contemporary emergency care challenges, including patient flow, clinical risk, and service demand
Provide expert clinical advice and deliver targeted education and capability-building initiatives to enhance the clinical competence of nurses and multidisciplinary teams
Actively contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance, and risk management activities, including audit, incident review, and evaluation of clinical outcomes
Translate evidence into practice and foster strong collegial relationships within the Emergency Department and across the wider organisation to support integrated patient care
About you
Registration as a Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and no practice restrictions
A postgraduate qualification at Master's level (completed or working towards) – essential
A minimum of 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience in Emergency Nursing or a relevant acute care specialty
Demonstrated advanced clinical leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills within a high-acuity environment
Proven ability to provide expert clinical consultancy and support to nurses and other health professionals
A strong commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and continuous improvement in emergency care delivery
Experience contributing to education, policy development, and clinical governance activities within an Emergency Department
