Job Summary
We are seeking a Deckhand to join our on-water team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and provide exceptional customer service to guests.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and manning vessels for the transportation of guests, luggage, and freight to and from Rottnest Island. They will also be required to deliver high-quality services and experiences to guests onboard vessels.
Duties
* Provide exceptional customer service and experiences to guests onboard vessels.
* Deliver vessel support on shore via jetty setup, guest queue management, and vessel berthing/departure procedures.
* Cargo Operations including organisation of cargo for varying destinations/offloading and loading procedures, and manual handling of luggage crates on shore.
* Assist with the coordination of bike fleet, ensuring adequate numbers available to suit operational requirements.
* Perform deck rounds.
* Assist guests with moving around vessels ensuring their safety.
* Control mooring lines.
* Work with other crew and Master to make vessel berthing as smooth as possible as per procedures.
* Perform tasks and follow safety procedures as per vessel SMS.
* Daily cleaning duties including general vessel clean and housekeeping.
Requirements
* General Purpose Hand (GPH - AMSA approved) certificate.
* Senior First Aid & CPR certificate.
* Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
* A current driver's license.
