Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) Immediate Start
Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) who will lead and deliver a high-quality, inclusive and culturally responsive early learning program that supports each child's wellbeing, identity and development.
Working within a team-teaching model, the ECT collaborates closely with fellow educators to plan, implement and evaluate engaging play-based learning experiences, while embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across the curriculum
The role upholds the VELYF, NQF and service policies, promotes a safe and nurturing environment and contributes to ongoing quality improvement across the service.
In this key role, you will:
· Work within a team-teaching model, sharing responsibility for planning, documentation and delivery of high-quality learning programs.
· Promote and support inclusive practice to ensure that the service can Support the cultural identity, safety, and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and community.
· Embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout the curriculum.
· Work collaboratively with families and community members to foster strong cultural connections and inclusive practices.
· Design, implement, and evaluate a holistic curriculum in line with the National Quality Framework where each child's current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities, and interests are the foundation of a play-based learning environment.
· Develop and maintain effective and respectful relationships with children, families, early childhood professionals, and regulatory departments, and maintain privacy and confidentiality.
· Undertake mandatory reporting to adhere to child protection guidelines and responsibilities.
· Record observations of individual children and groups, assess learning, and use for program planning.
· Operate within the requirements of the organisation's policies and procedures, as well as funding and regulatory requirements.
· Provide a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment and ensure that children are supervised at all times.
· Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan of the organisation.
· Work in accordance with the standards outlined in the Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Code of Ethics, the Victorian Institute (VIT) Code of Conduct, Child Safe Standards, and Koori First Steps and Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation child safety standards.
· Embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in all aspects of the curriculum.
· Plan and implement a comprehensive transition to school/school-readiness program for Preschool children.
· Uphold an inclusive and welcoming learning environment that recognises and values the diverse backgrounds of all children, families, and the local community.
Be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of employees performing duties related to the group/s for which the position is directly responsible
This position requires willingness to provide, complete and submit evidence prior to commencement of employment of:
· Must hold a minimum qualification of a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent, as recognised by ACECQA.
· Minimum of 4 years teaching experience as an Early Childhood teacher
· Hold a current ACECQA compliant First Aid Certificate, including Resuscitation, Asthma Management, and Anaphylaxis.
· Be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and continue to renew/maintain the registration during the course of employment.
