Lead strategic financial, governance, and risk management initiatives as Chief Finance Officer for NIISQ, MAIC and ND. Drive innovation, collaboration, and performance to deliver exceptional outcomes for Queenslanders.
In This Role
Act as the Chief Finance Officer for NIISQ, MAIC, and ND, fulfilling responsibilities under the Financial Accountability Act **** or as determined by the Accountable Officer.
Provide strategic analysis, policy advice, and management insights on financial, budgetary, and overall business performance to the executive team.
Collaborate with the executive team to design and implement a comprehensive governance framework, encompassing risk management, operational reporting, and compliance across diverse risk categories.
Lead and manage teams in finance, procurement, risk, and corporate governance, fostering a client-centric, solutions-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
Identify and implement initiatives that promote organisational capability, knowledge sharing, and exceptional service delivery.
What Experience You Will Bring
Substantial financial expertise with the capability to strategically plan and manage significant financial matters, fund investments, and programs across multiple entities.
A proven track record as a leader and manager who collaborates and shares resources to meet broader agency and client needs.
A strong background in corporate governance, risk, and operational management across diverse business areas.
Expertise in policy development and implementation, complex stakeholder management, service delivery, digital initiatives, artificial intelligence, and client service.
Significant ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to complex issues in challenging and ambiguous environments.
A demonstrated ability to foster a confident and capable workforce while driving a culture of collaboration and participation.
Must hold an appropriate qualification: a certified practising accountant (CPA Australia), a chartered accountant (CA ANZ), a member of the IPA entitled to use MIPA or FIPA, or an overseas accounting qualification recognised by at least two of CPA Australia, CA ANZ, and IPA.
