Inspired by Australia's great people and amazing foodie culture, Chobani USA purchased the Gippsland Dairy brand alongside Chobani, to form Chobani Australia in 2011. Flash forward 14 years and Chobani is Australia’s #1 yogurt brand, living in the hearts (and tummies) of fans across the country.
At Chobani it’s always been about more than yogurt. Access to delicious and nutritious food should be a right, not a privilege, Chobani’s purpose as a leading food and drink manufacturer is to use their platforms, their resources and their influence to bridge that gap, to make a difference in the fight against food insecurity.
The Opportunity
Are you a strategic thinker with a sharp, analytical mindset and a flair for storytelling?
As Chobani continues its exciting growth journey, we’re looking for an influential and commercially minded Senior Category Manager to join our Category team. This is a high-impact leadership role with clear succession potential.
In this role, you’ll drive execution of Chobani’s 3-5 year category growth strategy, partnering with our retailers to translate strategy into actionable plans. You’ll bring deep expertise across range, space, pricing and promotion, whilst supporting portfolio management and revenue growth initiatives.
This role shapes strategic partnerships with major retailers to unlock growth opportunities. Internally, you’ll collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams, embedding category thinking across the business and aligning stakeholders around joint strategies.
You’ll also bring your storytelling superpowers to the table—crafting compelling, data-driven presentations that inspire action across various internal and external forums, workshops, and meetings. Your ability to take a category-first approach will foster trust and credibility, enabling insight-led recommendations and decisions.
Skills & Experience
Ideally to be successful in the role you will have:
1. Significant experience (8+ years) in Category or Senior Sales in-house roles in FMCG
2. Proficiency interpreting scan and shopper panel data (IRI/Circana or Nielsen experience essential) and the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights
3. A blend of strategic thinking and operational execution—you’re just as comfortable in the weeds as you are steering the bigger picture
4. Strong influencing and presentation skills, and the ability to craft engaging, insight-led narratives
5. Proven leadership experience with a passion for coaching and developing others
With yogurt being one of the largest and most dynamic categories in grocery, this is a standout opportunity for an experienced, hands-on category expert. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, and play a key role in delivering strategic insights that shape business decisions. Plus, you’ll work closely with a talented Category Manager, together contributing towards the long-term growth of Chobani.
You will be located at our Dandenong South office, where you will have access to a 3/2 hybrid working model.
At Chobani, social responsibility is in our DNA and that means you will be joining an organisation that is constantly seeking to make a difference for the community, people, and planet. Chobani offer flexible working arrangements, excellent benefits including up to $1000 in furniture to set up your work from home Chobani Office, free parking and yoghurt whilst in the office, a wellbeing program and a great rewards and recognition program.
