We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager (Electrical) to lead our Solar PV and Battery division, while supporting electrical-related HVAC works and general electrical upgrades across residential and commercial projects.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager (Electrical) to lead our Solar PV and Battery division, while supporting electrical aspects of HVAC projects and general electrical upgrades across residential sites. This is a hands-on senior leadership role with accountability for the end-to-end delivery of all solar and electrical installations.
You will manage both in-house and subcontracted teams, ensure high-quality and compliant installations, drive operational efficiency, and step in on-site when required.
This is a hybrid role: 3 days working from home managing operations, planning, and reporting, with 1 day in the office for team meetings, 1 day for training, and post-installation audits. You may also be required on-site for critical issues or coaching.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage end-to-end delivery of solar PV, battery, and electrical upgrade projects.
* Lead, train, and mentor quotation teams and site assessors, improving current quotation and compliance processes.
* Oversee in-house installation teams and subcontractors.
* Coordinate stock and parts delivery to sites for solar and battery installations.
* Conduct post-installation quality audits and manage defects/rectifications efficiently.
* Support HVAC teams on electrical scope, including switchboard upgrades and compliance connections.
* Recruit, train, and mentor apprentices and full-time installers.
* Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and pride in workmanship.
* Lead by example, stepping in to assist with installations when required.
Who we are looking for:
* Proven experience as an Operations Manager (Electrical), ideally in a solar company.
* Strong technical knowledge of residential and commercial solar PV and battery installations.
* Hands-on, practical approach; thrives in fast-paced environments.
* Ability to lead teams effectively without micromanaging.
* Strong understanding of Australian electrical, solar, and safety standards.
Mandatory Requirements:
* Current A-Grade Electrical Licence.
* Current SAA Solar & Battery Accreditation.
* Proven experience as an operations manager for an electrical company, preferably with a solar company.
