Food Services Assistant Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our kitchen team as a Food Services Assistant at Respect Aged Care's Alcheringa facility in Swan Hill, Victoria.
In this essential role, you will help ensure that residents receive well-prepared, nutritious meals that meet their individual dietary needs and enhance their daily living experience.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
* Assisting in the preparation, portioning, serving, and timely delivery of meals and refreshments to residents.
* Ensuring all meals are served in accordance with individual dietary requirements and preferences, as outlined by clinical staff and the Food Services Program (FSP).
* SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION AND ONGOING MONITORING OF THE FSP, INCLUDING TEMPERATURE CHECKS, RECORDING DELIVERIES, AND MAINTAINING FOOD SAFETY STANDARDS.
* Assisting in menu planning and meal presentation to meet the diverse needs of residents.
* Maintaining cleanliness in food preparation, service, and dining areas according to hygiene and safety standards.
* Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to support a clean and safe environment.
* Communicating effectively with residents and staff to ensure satisfaction and identify any food-related concerns.
The qualifications and skills required for this position include:
Essential Qualifications & Skills
* Completion of a recognised Food Handling Course.
* A current National Police Certificate (or willingness and ability to obtain one).
* First Aid certification.
The desirable qualifications and skills for this position include:

* Previous experience in residential aged care food services.
* Background in hospitality or catering.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary requirements in an aged care setting.
