What’s The Role
As part of Shell QGC's largest and most complex asset, the Production Engineer (PE) will be responsible for the safe delivery of production for their respective region, serve as a technical mentor to fellow PEs, and act as a focal point for all production engineering technical queries. The PE will oversee over 300 wells and associated gathering systems, contributing to short-term production and surveillance activities in line with Shell standards and guidelines.
This position is part of a dedicated, multidisciplinary WRFM (Wells Reservoir and Facilities Management) team within an integrated collaborative environment focused on optimizing production and costs in the Surat Basin.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Monitoring and analyzing daily production of wells and gathering systems.
* Providing daily support to field operations and acting as an interface between office and field teams.
* Optimizing FBHP and tracking it.
* Updating and monitoring well production trends, discussing, and implementing remedial actions.
* Investigating downhole failures and proposing new completion designs.
* Collaborating across QGC through developing and maintaining close working relationships.
* Supporting the implementation and surveillance of technology trials.
* Ensuring HSSE risk assessments and operational processes are properly used.
* Leading by example with a strong commitment to values, safety, and environmental standards.
* Applying standards rigorously and intervening when they are compromised.
What You Bring
* An engineering degree in Petroleum, Process, Chemical, Mechanical fields.
* Experience in the CSG industry is an advantage.
* Proven coaching and influencing skills.
* A high commitment to safety and environmental standards.
* Good communication skills and a willingness to learn quickly.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
* Demonstrated commitment to Diversity & Inclusion.
