WHO ARE YOU?
You are a motivated, tech‑lover with strong experience in System Administration. You're confident overseeing both client‑facing systems and Revium's internal infrastructure, ensuring reliability and smooth day‑to‑day operations across all environments.
You have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available systems. Cyber Security is central to how you work - you proactively identify risks, implement security best practices and respond swiftly to emerging threats.
You excel at diagnosing and resolving technical issues, continuously improving system performance, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions. You communicate clearly, operate with autonomy, and stay current with evolving technologies, cloud services, and security standards.
WHAT'S THE ROLE?
We're looking for a part‑time permanent employee who can commit to three days per week while remaining available for priority tasks at any time.
The System Administrator is accountable for the successful management of the various hosting environments Revium maintains for its clients. In addition, the System Administrator is responsible for designing and architecting hosting environments for new application builds, ensuring that solutions are tailored to meet client requirements and best practices.
The System Administrator is responsible for the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, on‑call monitoring, emergency response, redundancy, and capacity planning for all applications hosted by Revium.
The System Administrator will work pro‑actively with developers and business analysts to ensure the hosting and support requirements for all clients are correctly scoped, implemented and managed.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Building out and maintaining accurate and efficient monitoring/alerting systems using a variety of modern tools
* Diagnosis, management and resolution of any hosting issues as they arise
* Development, implementation and enforcement of policies, processes and procedures related to hosting infrastructure (internal and external) to ensure security standards, repeatability and efficiency
* Collaborate with Project Managers, Account Managers, and Business Analysts to understand hosting requirements, architect solutions, and provide estimates.
* Hardware capacity planning and continuous improvements of environments
* Maintain and improve the vulnerability and threat management frameworks as part of ISO 27001 compliance.
* Implement new software in either our own data centre, cloud‑based environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) or client' environments
* Monthly server patch management
* Provide customer support for our clients concerning their hosting
* Assist with any DNS or hosting update requests from clients
* Regular testing of backups to ensure business continuity
* Setup and maintenance of internal team PCs and laptops
* Provide on‑call support for critical infrastructure and hosting environments, responding promptly to unplanned outages or incidents outside standard business hours
WHAT ARE WE IDEALLY LOOKING FOR?
* 5+ years' experience working in a similar role in the digital space.
* Current Australian resident that lives in Melbourne or surrounding suburbs.
* Digital consultancy experience is strongly preferred, simply due to the complexities of working in a fast‑paced environment like ours.
* Knowledge and experience using the following technologies:
o Windows Desktop, Server and MacOS management
o Deployment and support of solution in various Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
o Configuration of webservers (Apache, IIS, NGIX)
o Networking and firewalls (PfSense, Palo Alto)
o Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, as you will be required to communicate clearly and effectively with our internal team and clients.
* Flexible in working under changing and different work settings
* Accurate time accounting and reporting of own work
* Promptly elevate issues that affect product delivery and quality beyond scope of influence and report them to the reporting manager
* Quality, on time delivery of agreed deliverables
* Contribute to the company knowledge base and process improvement
* Take a proactive approach to ongoing education/learning/skill development
