The Role and our Branch
The Schools Group develops overall strategic directions for promoting and developing Government schools. The Group is responsible for:
3. providing educational leadership to regions and schools
4. leading responses to operational initiatives including exclusions, student safety, home schooling and Agricultural Education.
5. implementation of a new school information system across all Public Schools
6. promoting excellence in teaching practice and learning outcomes
7. developing and implementing operational policies to achieve outcomes
8. setting directions for the delivery of services to schools.
9. Implementation of findings from external reviews and reports that need to be operationalised in Public Schools

As the Executive Consultant Participation and Operational Priorities, you will lead and manage the planning and implementation of the Ombudsman Recommendations related to student care, wellbeing, attendance and participation.
The successful applicant will have the ability to work within and across teams to achieve the implementation of findings and recommendations. In addition the role will lead and coordinate the development of the scope and implementation of recommendations from the Department’s review of participation.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the capability to manage projects. They will undertake research and analysis to evaluate policies and reform initiatives, providing high-level advice and recommended actions to the Deputy Director General, Schools, Corporate Executive, External Agencies and the Minister.
