Position Summary
Full‐time, permanent Plant Engineer responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the production facility.
Responsibilities
* Operational Integrity & Reliability: Manage the local site team and coordinate routine maintenance and breakdown repairs to maintain continuous, reliable supply of quality‐assured gases.
* Process Optimization & Innovation: Collaborate with Facility Managers and other stakeholders to design and implement plant efficiency programs, develop operational standards and KPIs, and implement cost‐reducing strategies.
* HSEQ Compliance & Stakeholder Relations: Champion a zero‐harm culture, enforce safety procedures, manage documentation, lead site audits, and act as the primary on‐site focal point for customers, regulators and unions.
* Reporting & Corporate Governance: Deliver precise data on site reliability, availability and overall process efficiency to support board reports and strategic decision‐making.
Qualifications
* Educational Foundation: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
* Industry Experience: Proven experience in the industrial gas or heavy chemical/process manufacturing environment, with direct exposure to plant operations, distribution networks or a filling centre.
* Regulatory & Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of work health and safety standards, dangerous goods handling, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
* Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to interpret complex technical instructions, safety rules, operating manuals and SOPs.
* Leadership & Drive: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proactive on‐site team management, contractor coordination and issue resolution.
Benefits
* Base salary of $80,000 – $87,000 per annum plus performance bonus and salary continuity insurance.
