Junior Medical Officer – Internal Medicine
Location: Western NSW Hospital (Far western NSW)
Duration: 28 April 2026 to 22 June 2026
Shift: 0800 hrs – 1630 hrs; temporary position; rostered overtime
Remuneration: AUD 130 per hour
Key Accountabilities
* Provide clinical care to all medical patients on the assigned ward, ensuring rounds are completed and comprehensive medical records maintained each service.
* Discharge patients from the ward, ensuring appropriate prescriptions and discharge summaries are completed and returned to Medical Records.
* Communicate admissions, deaths and significant events to the relevant consultant, considering referral to the Coroner when necessary.
* Supervise Medical Residents and Interns and serve as a clinical resource and teacher for medical students and junior doctors.
* Provide on‐call shifts as scheduled in the HealthRoster.
* Respond to MET calls.
* Assist with completion of legal and police reports for patients seen.
* Attend educational and clinical audit activities and participate in quality improvement programmes.
* Contribute to staff management, business outcome optimisation, change management and rostering capability.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Registered medical practitioner, Junior Medical Officer in Internal Medicine.
* Eligibility to practice in Australia (registered with AHPRA).
* Right to work in Australia.
