Caladenia Dementia Care is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation supporting people living with dementia through meaningful activities, connection, and high-quality care.
We are seeking a Casual Support Worker (Activity Assistant) to join our friendly and supportive team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, supporting group activities, and building positive relationships.
The role is ideal for
* University students (health, psychology, social work, teaching, nursing or related fields)
* People seeking a career change into meaningful, people-focused work
* Applicants with no prior aged care experience who are keen to learn
(Full training and ongoing support are provided)
About the role
You will:
* Support people living with dementia in a warm, respectful, person-centred way
* Assist with group activities, social engagement, and day programs
* Drive our 12-seater bus (car licence only required) for outings and transport
* Prepare and serve simple, nutritious lunches
* Provide personal care assistance with dignity and compassion, as required
* Work collaboratively within a supportive team environment
Shifts are between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Saturday.
No evening or overnight shifts.
Closed on public holidays, Christmas, and New Year.
What we’re looking for
* Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability, or Individual Support
* Willingness to assist with personal care
* Current driver’s licence and confidence driving a 12-seater bus
* Flexibility with availability between 8am–5pm
* A caring, reliable, and positive attitude
Experience in aged care is valued, but attitude, empathy, and willingness to learn are just as important.
