About Your Opportunity: As the Senior Planning Engineer – Water Treatment Planning, you will coordinate, oversee and undertake planning for major and complex improvements to water treatment plants, provide engineering advice for treatment planning and project delivery, and prepare documentation in line with business requirements. You will prepare Asset Management plans for water treatment projects by defining the problem statement, future outcomes, and presenting strategic options to secure approval of the preferred solution. You will lead the engineering and design aspects of water treatment initiatives, including asset renewals, developing robust technical solutions and ensuring integration of sound engineering principles throughout planning and delivery. You will facilitate a smooth transition of projects to capital delivery teams and provide expert advice on Water Treatment Plant projects for technical excellence and prudent delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate, oversee and undertake planning activities including documenting the problem statement and outlining the future state for improvements and augmentations of Water Treatment Plants to achieve water supply strategies, requirements, and specifications prudently and efficiently. This includes needs and data analysis (root cause analysis), options analysis, preferred technical option identification and other planning projects.
* Undertake asset management and asset lifecycle planning for water treatment plant assets
* Develop detailed project plan as well as realistic and accurate project schedules and budgets for planning and project planning purposes.
* Critique and project manage the deliverables from projects and internal teams to ensure the deliverables adequately address all key issues and provide efficient solutions that meet project drivers and objectives within agreed time and budget.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
* Tertiary qualifications and professional experience in Civil Engineering or Relevant Engineering discipline.
* Current active RPEQ registration in a discipline relevant to the position.
* Current C class Drivers Licence for a motor vehicle.
* Extensive experience in process engineering for water treatment plant design and operations with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
* Proven high level skills in managing project teams, including consultation, negotiation and co-ordination, and the ability to work with people at all levels internally and externally.
This position is being offered at PO5 level with a salary between $149,648 - $162,324 plus 12.75% superannuation and will also have access to 17.5% Leave loading and banked flexitime.
Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements. People with criminal records will be considered on their merits.
