We have a position available in our Track and Facilities team at the Mowbray Racecourse for a Groundsperson to join our team. The Track and Facilities team are responsible for all aspects of the track and grounds maintenance at the Mowbray Racecourse.

Reporting to the Track & Facilities Manager - Mowbray, you will be responsible for:
* Performing general turf maintenance duties, including divot replacement and filling, sweeping, watering and assisting with rail movements;
* Operating and maintaining turf management/horticultural plant and equipment including mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, handheld power tools, HP tractors, implements and light trucks;
* Operating specialist turf maintenance equipment including a verti-drain, phantom core, de-thatcher and other implements relating to the maintenance of the Thoroughbred turf track;
* Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of both the Harness and Greyhound tracks for race meetings and training. Including, but not limited to the grading, harrowing, smudging and watering of tracks; and
* Assist with grounds maintenance and horticultural maintenance tasks as required.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
* Have suitable experience with use of turf management plant and machinery. Including, but not limited to tractors, mowers etc.
* Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.
* Contemporary understanding of workplace health and safety regulations with a strong focus on contributing to improving the safety culture of the Track Team.
* Ability to demonstrate flexibility, initiative and agility in the workplace.
* Can work overtime as required for preparation of and conducting race meetings.
* Drivers licence essential.
Desirable
* Truck license preferred but not essential
