St John Bosco College is a Catholic co-educational College in its eleventh year of operation. The College is situated in Piara Waters, a southern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. We commenced in 2015 with students from Kindergarten to Year 2. In 2025, we have 1350 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, as well as an OSHC facility and an Aboriginal Families as First Educators Playgroup. Our innovative building design has a focus on shared, flexible learning spaces which support best practice, 21st century teaching and learning methods. Our outstanding facilities include an Early Learning Centre, Junior Primary and Upper Primary studios, grass play areas, junior and senior ovals, soccer and hockey pitch and multi-purpose hard court play areas, enclosed Assembly Space, library, Science Learning Centre, a two-storey Arts and Technology Learning Centre, Middle Learning Centre, dedicated Administration and ample parking. In 2024, we opened our College Sport and Recreation Centre and a new two-storey Secondary Learning Centre. Our College Cafeteria has opened this term.

Our vision for this new Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 College is creating a flourishing environment in which every student can experience the joy in learning and thrive in a Catholic learning community, where development of the whole person is of utmost importance. SELECTION CRITERIA
Special skills are needed to be involved in a Foundation College and applications are invited from applicants who possess the following attributes:
* Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of Catholic Education and St John Bosco College and a willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the Bosco community
* Have a commitment to Child Safety and Protection consistent with the CEWA Child Safe Framework
* Be a creative, flexible, cooperative and enthusiastic Secondary educator who will work collaboratively as part of a team and be an active team builder
* Be able to demonstrate highly competent classroom management, pastoral care and learning area skills
* Possess a sound knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum in their relevant Learning Areas
* Religious Education teachers must be practicing Catholics
* Provide opportunities for students to learn through an orchestrated balance of inquiry-based learning and intentional teaching
* Possess the ability to be student-centred and infuse thinking skills into the curriculum
* Plan and teach for learning experiences that incorporate a 21st Century learning environment
* Have a high level of expertise in the application of digital technologies to personalise and maximise teaching and learning experiences
* Be able to develop programs that take advantage of relevant research evidence and are refined and enhanced through reflection, analysis of data and ongoing professional learning
* Possess a sound knowledge of educational theory and pedagogy appropriate to different student needs
* Demonstrate the capacity and enthusiasm to build community by participating in College activities in collaboration with staff, parents, students and the St Francis Xavier Parish
* Show initiative and participate fully in College activities, including co-curricular programs
* Be an enthusiastic and cooperative team member who will work collaboratively with all staff
* Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and excellent communication and organisational skills
* Always represent the College in a positive manner, whether onsite, in the wider community or on social media
* Participate actively in ongoing professional learning
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
* Education Teaching Qualification (4 years)
* A willingness to complete Accreditation requirements as specified by Catholic Education WA.
