Graduate Mine Surveyor role supporting underground and surface mining operations at Westgold Resources, a leading WA gold producer.
Your role
Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Senior Surveyor and assisting Mine Surveyors in supporting mining operations, particularly in maintaining the underground model, executing mine design, and reporting.
* Assisting the Mine Surveyor to supply all survey requirements for underground and surface mine operations, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and Company Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures.
* Gaining proficiency in completing surface and underground survey tasks autonomously.
* Gaining experience and familiarisation in completing requirements for end of month calculations and reporting.
* Learning and developing advanced CAD processing skills over time.
* Performing calculations and computation of survey field work as per Mine Surveyors requirements.
* Cleaning and maintaining survey equipment, including correct storage and checking for damage and faults.
* Maintaining detailed knowledge of supplies in stock and re-ordering stock through stores when supplies are low.
* Conducting prism monitoring surveys.
About you
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Surveying.
* Practical experience or vacation work is advantageous.
* Strong computer literacy skills and excellent communication skills with all levels of operation.
* A current and valid Manual Driver's Licence.
* A National Police Clearance valid within the last 12 months.
* The ability to pass Westgold's pre-employment process, including medical and drug and alcohol screening, right to work checks, and provision of valid Australian national police clearance and Australian driver's licence (or ability to obtain).
