About Mine Geology Role
As a geologist in an underground mine, you will play a vital role in turning field observations and sample data into clear, timely guidance that keeps the operation on grade, on schedule and safe. Your work shapes every drill, blast and haul decision.
The role involves:
* Mapping development headings each shift to inform geological models
* Validating orebody and structural observations from digital face maps against existing interpretations
* Core logging, collecting and interpreting grade-control samples, ensuring data quality and prompt turnaround.
* Collecting hydrogeological data from monitoring points
* Monitoring compliance with safety, environmental and statutory standards, escalating issues quickly.
* Collaborating with survey, engineering and planning teams to optimise cave designs and schedules
* Driving continuous improvement of geological models to support resource estimation and mine planning.
You will possess a tertiary qualification in geology or geosciences and previous experience working in a metalliferous mining operation. Proficiency in Leapfrog is essential, and familiarity with Deswik and acQuire is also advantageous.
