PresCare Groundwater Lodge are seeking a compassionate and motivated Lifestyle Officer (Spiritual & Pastoral Care) to deliver holistic spiritual, pastoral, and emotional support within our residential aged care community. The position is part-time, offering 27.5 hours per fortnight, worked on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
About the Role
As a valued member of the Care Team, you'll play a key role in supporting the spiritual wellbeing of our residents, their families, and staff. You'll work alongside lifestyle and care teams to design and deliver meaningful spiritual and leisure-based activities, provide emotional support during times of change or grief, and help residents reflect on their life experiences.
Duties Include
* Deliver personalised spiritual and pastoral care in line with individual care plans
* Provide support through reminiscence, reflection, prayer, or rituals, respecting diverse faiths and backgrounds
* Facilitate and coordinate group spiritual and lifestyle activities
* Offer bereavement support to residents, their families, and staff
* Assist in the development and evaluation of spiritual care plans
* Contribute to a caring and respectful environment where residents feel valued and supported
What You'll Bring
* Minimum one year's experience in a lifestyle or pastoral care role (preferably in aged care)
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Understanding of pastoral care, chaplaincy, and spiritual practices across diverse cultures and beliefs
* Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle and/or qualifications in spiritual/pastoral care
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* A kind, empathetic nature and the ability to build trusted relationships

Our Groundwater Lodge community is set in the heart of our well preserved colonial architectural town of Maryborough, just a short stepping stone from QLD's pristine beaches and beautiful Hervey Bay. Our 60 bed home is divided into smaller households that mirror the look and rhythm of home with vast communal areas where our residents can enjoy their own homestyle lounge, dining and kitchen areas with a private backyard for their established gardens and veggie patches.
