Project Leaders oversee land development projects, guiding teams and partnering with clients to shape the future of land development.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Foster strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted advisor.
* Lead project teams to deliver quality work on time and within budget.
* Optimize project profitability through effective planning and proactive scope/schedule management.
* Conduct Management Field Observations to discuss safety with employees and ensure safe working conditions.
* Maintain accurate forecasts and adjust as necessary to drive project success.
* Manage client expectations, scope creep, and scope changes through clear communication.
* Identify and resolve client, project, and/or team issues.
* Cultivate open lines of communication between clients and internal team members to facilitate timely information exchange.
* Maintain a risk-aware project environment by recognizing risk events early and proactively mitigating them.
* E nsure adherence to quality, safety, legislation, and industry standards.
* Promote an environment of high performance, mentoring, and supporting project team members.
* Travel to sites within and beyond Victoria as required for project needs.
Requirements
* Hold a BC Land Surveyor (BCLS) license or obtain one in a reasonable timeframe.
* Possess a Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, B.Sc. in Geomatics or related field preferred.
* Demonstrate 5+ years of previous project management experience with proven success in managing client expectations, scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
* Knowledge of financial processes including estimating, controlling costs, operating profit/margins, and forecasting.
* Exhibit strong client management and sales skills to foster growth with new and existing clients.
* Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Able to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
* Proficient in computer software, particularly Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
* Able to meet deadlines and complete tasks efficiently.
* Demonstrate analytical skills and attention to detail.
