Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Assembly Specialist to join our Workshop team based in Newcastle. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out workshop installations and pre-delivery inspection duties for all new or used cranes and hook loaders.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has prior experience working in a similar industry, with a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical, Fabrication Trade, or equivalent. If you have a passion for working on heavy vehicles and interpreting drawings and procedures, we want to hear from you!
You will work closely with our experienced team to ensure that all installations meet Palfinger standards, while also providing exceptional service duties for new and used vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders. Your strong attention to detail and quality workmanship will be essential in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
* Workshop installations and pre-delivery inspection duties for all new or used cranes and hook loaders
* Fabrication and installation of subframes from design to development and manufacture
* Installation of new cranes to Palfinger standards
* Service duties of new and used vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders
* Preparation of annual inspection certificates
* Completion of all documentation
* Always working in a safe manner and adhering to site policies and procedures in order to enhance the safety culture & performance of the site.
Requirements
* Prior experience working in a similar industry
* Hold a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical, Fabrication Trade, or equivalent
* Experience working on heavy vehicles
* Experience with cranes and/or hook loaders is an advantage
* Ability to interpret drawings and procedures
* Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to work safely
* Good time management and work prioritisation skills
* Current Drivers licence, HR preferable
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and a National Police Check
