**About NSW Trustee and Guardian**
NSW Trustee and Guardian protects, promotes, and supports the rights, dignity, choices and wishes of the people of NSW. The agency supports the Chief Executive Officer and the Public Guardian to provide customer-centred services to the people of NSW, including some of the state's most vulnerable. We do this by providing a range of multidisciplinary services including Will-making, trustee, financial management and guardianship services.

**Overview of the NSW Public Guardian**
The Public Guardian can be appointed by a court or tribunal to make health and lifestyle decisions for people who are unable to on their own, or with support. These include decisions such as where a person might live, their medical and dental treatment, health care, and other services. It also provides information and support to private and enduring guardians, service providers and the wider community.
**About the opportunity**
The NSW Public Guardian is a statutory role who is appointed and exercises guardianship functions under the Guardianship Act 1987 and appointed by a court or tribunal including statutory decision making for customers. You would be responsible for leading and overseeing the Public Guardian Division in the delivery of evidence-based guardianship decision-making and customer centred services where appointed for customers.
You will lead the division by aligning people, process and systems with organisational priorities and long-term objectives and driving sustained change and continuous improvement in program delivery. The role is member of the Executive Leadership Team and plays a key role in corporate planning, decision-making and implementation.
In this role you will be based at our offices in Sydney and Parramatta. You will need to be able to travel to our other locations across the State as required.

**Essential Requirements for the role**
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant area or equivalent demonstrated experience.
**Key knowledge and experience**
- Extensive knowledge and leadership experience in the human services sector with demonstrated industry connections.
- Strong knowledge of guardianship and the responsibilities under the Guardianship Act including authoritative, evidence-based decision making.
- Sound understanding of issues impacting vulnerable communities, people with disability and older people.
