About the opportunity
The Workday Systems Manager role is a key subject matter expert and people leader for the team who specifically develops and executes the Workday solutions support strategy, and ensures consistent, reliable, and ultimately the successful delivery of the Workday application services. You will be responsible for the management, operation, support, and maintenance of the organisation's Human Capital Management application suite, focusing on Workday, ensuring availability to agreed service levels and functionality in line with business demands.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* build and maintain relationships with the key business areas that consume the services of the Workday support team, and other key stakeholders, including HR, project teams, internal ICT teams, vendors, and senior university stakeholders
* coordinate with functional owners and leaders to drive the configuration, enhancement, and delivery of the solution to reflect HR business processes across the Recruitment, Learning, Absence, Compensation, Performance, Core and Extend modules
* effectively lead mentor and motivate your team to manage the day-to-day support activities for the Workday and other HR applications
* perform a range of system administration duties on enterprise platforms, including but not limited to: HR System (Workday), and any other associated supporting platforms, including configuration, enhancements, installation, application of patches, debug, release management and maintenance
* set, schedule, communicate, and implement upgrade roadmaps, continuous improvement, enhancement, and new feature rollout activities to ensure version currency of Workday and other associated HR applications
* provide key metrics to identify where improvements and efficiencies can be made and implement action plans to ensure service robustness and efficiency.
About you
* tertiary qualifications in a relevant ICT related field, and Workday certification would be highly preferable
* demonstrated experience in delivering exceptional service and stakeholder management in complex multi-layered environment
* ability to blend your significant Workday-specific technical skills of systems and applications like Workday, Ascender etc, with strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
* possess the essential subject matter expertise across the Workday functions: such as Recruitment, Learning, Absence, Extend, Core, Compensation and Talent & Performance
* highly experienced in Workday implementation or upgrade experience including tenant design, configuration, interface configuration and testing
* solid experience with Managed Services Contracts, Service Level Agreement and Vendor Contracts
* possess significant project and change management experience, and familiarity with methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
