It is an exciting time to join the People Technology team as we grow our capability in delivering technology to Coles team members across a wide range of People & Culture, Payroll and Time & Attendance applications.

About the role

As a Senior Engineer and Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will provide deep technical expertise in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).

You will lead the design, development, and support of payroll solutions, working closely with technology teams and stakeholders across the Coles Payroll ecosystem to deliver projects and resolve incidents.

A mandatory requirement for this role is certificatifaction and experience implementing SuccessFactors ECP, with the ability to analyse complex payroll requirements and design scalable, compliant solutions.

As part of this role you will be accountable for managing operational teams in the delivery and support of Coles' technology strategy.

This role will suit someone focused on delivering quality technology outcomes at pace and those who enjoy a dynamic team environment engaging with multiple teams, stakeholders, vendors and delivery partners.

A key requirement is hands-on experience with Australian payroll, including tax regulations, compliance, and statutory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end technical implementation of SAP ECP solutions, including configuration, integration, and support.
• Collaborate with HR, payroll, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and implement enhancements, customizations, and interfaces between SAP ECP, SuccessFactors, Kronos, and other systems.
• Ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation and data security standards.
• Implement and support Payroll Control Centre (PCC) for proactive payroll monitoring and error resolution.
• Manage IDoc integration for seamless data exchange between SAP and external systems.
• Lead EC/Kronos integration to ensure accurate time data flows into payroll processing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll issues and system errors.
• Participate in system upgrades, patching, regression testing, and performance tuning.
• Scope, estimate, build, and deliver projects and change requests following best practices.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, integrations, and processes.
• Participate in stakeholder discussions to identify business needs and develop technical requirements.
• Work independently and collaboratively with onshore and offshore teams in a fast-paced environment.

About you and your skills

• At least 10 years of experience in SAP HCM/Payroll, and in SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
• Mandatory: Expertise in Payroll Control Center (PCC) configuration and usage.
• Mandatory: Experience with IDoc monitoring, troubleshooting, and development.
• Preferred: Demonstrated experience integrating Kronos with EC/ECP.
• Proven experience in SAP SuccessFactors EC and ECP integration.
• Strong understanding of payroll schemas, rules, and processing logic.
• Solid understanding of Australian payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with ABAP debugging, custom reports, and enhancements.

Technical Skills & Expertise:

• Deep knowledge of SAP ECP architecture, configuration, and payroll processing.
• Proficiency in ABAP, SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration), and Integration Centre.
• Strong understanding of data migration, interfaces, and security roles.
• Ability to analyse and optimize payroll performance and batch jobs.
• Experience with incident and problem management processes and tools.
• Strong integration experience across on-premises and cloud technologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

A mandatory requirement for this role is SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll, you will also ideally have SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver
