My client is currently looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join a leading Tier 2 business that has a excellent name within the commercial construction industry. They operate in NSW, ACT and QLD and are looking for someone on a permanent basis to work out of their Canberra office.
As a Safety Advisor you will drive and facilitate the site management of Health, Safety & Environmental activities including but not limited to:
- Providing specialist safety guidance to project leaders and site supervisors/workers.
- Mentoring and coaching to facilitate HE&E; duties.
- Assess data via lag indicators (audits and incidents) to map trends and help influence the project safety approach.
- Support the implementation of safety initiatives and new technologies to improve culture and company performance (HammerTech).
Requirements
- Demonstrated practical construction-related safety coordination/management experience delivering small to large projects; built form (preferred), civil construction or infrastructure for government and/or private clients
- WHS industry-relevant qualifications and certificates
- Collaborative communication skills consistent with effective consultation, influencing and relationship building
- Competent computer and system skills – HammerTech training provided
- Experience working on multiple new build construction projects from start to finish
- Australian construction experience – new build construction experience is a must
- Must have worked for a Tier 1, 2 or 3 Builder and have worked on commercial projects over $20M
